Kayla McComb
Ph.D. Student

Kayla is a Ph.D. student who studies musical and linguistic development. She is particularly interested in how environmental musical experience impacts infant vocalizations. Outside of the lab, Kayla enjoys playing with her puppy, cooking, and writing and listening to music.

Ethan Alcantar
Undergraduate Student

Ethan is a junior undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Queer Studies. He plans to earn a graduate degree in Psychology in hopes of working with LGBTQ+ youth. Ethan’s free time usually involves visiting cafes, anything outdoors, playing the ukulele, and volunteering in the community.

Moriyah Brown
Undergraduate Student

Moriyah is a first year undergraduate student double majoring in Psychology and Music. Moriyah enjoys studying music and its relation to mental health. After college, she plans on attending grad school to become a child/adolescent psychologist. In her free time, Moriyah is part of UO’s running club and enjoys reading, making music, and spending time outdoors.

Immie is a University of Oregon graduate who majored in Neuroscience. She has experience with cognitive neuroscience research and is excited to learn about linguistic development research. Immie hopes to attend graduate school for clinical psychology. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, painting, and playing trivia with friends.

Natalie is senior undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology. Natalie hopes to attend graduate school and become a neuropsychologist. Natalie spends most of her free time outdoors, reading, or painting.

Chayse is a first year undergraduate student majoring in Psychology. She hopes to attend graduate school and open a private practice in clinical children’s psychology. In her free time, Chayse enjoys baking, concert-going, and writing.

Ian is a sophomore undergraduate student majoring in Psychology. He plans on attending graduate school on the path to becoming a clinical psychologist. In his free time, Ian loves to listen to music, read, and build puzzles.

Sonoma is a senior undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Anthropology. Sonoma enjoys studying cultural influences on developmental processes. In her free time, she loves reading, cooking, and running.

Lucie is a sophomore undergraduate student planning to major in psychology, with a minor in linguistics or music, on a track to medical school. Lucie loves to crochet, read, and hang out with friends and family.

Kiera is a Communication Disorders and Sciences major interested in how kids learn and use language. She hopes to become a Speech Language Pathologist and work with kids in the future. In her free time, Kiera loves to read, craft, and listen to music.

Chloe is a junior undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Media Studies. After graduation, she hopes to go to graduate school for Clinical Psychology to become a therapist. Chloe likes to play musical instruments, play video games, and dance in Zumba classes during her free time.

She is interested in the developmental and biological aspects of psychology and hopes to continue to learn about these subjects in graduate school. Jena is double majoring in Communication Disorders and Sciences and Psychology, and she is interested in how children learn language from the objects in their environment. She hopes to become a Speech Language Pathologist with a focus in Early Intervention. In her free time Jena loves to read, try new coffee shops, and spend time with friends and family.

Nally is a Human Physiology major with a Chemistry minor at the University of Oregon. She is originally from Sacramento, California and is a proud fan of the Sacramento Kings. One of her greatest joys is baking and cooking for others. Beyond the kitchen, Nally is passionate about her studies and aspires to combine her love for science and care for others by pursuing a career in the medical field.
