Heather is a doctoral student who studies how parent-child interactions influence the development of language and executive functioning over time. She is particularly interested in the language and strategies parents use to guide their children through “everyday tasks” like grooming, mealtime, and book-reading – things that can be challenging for a young child.

Ally is a Ph.D. student who studies how children learn and remember language over extended time. Outside the lab, she spends her time figure skating, playing with her puppy, and drinking fancy coffee with friends.

Kayla is a Ph.D. student who studies musical and linguistic development. She is particularly interested in how environmental musical experience impacts infant vocalizations. Outside of the lab, Kayla enjoys playing with her puppy, cooking, and writing and listening to music.

Ethan is a junior undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Queer Studies. He plans to earn a graduate degree in Psychology in hopes of working with LGBTQ+ youth. Ethan’s free time usually involves visiting cafes, anything outdoors, playing the ukulele, and volunteering in the community.

Moriyah is a first year undergraduate student double majoring in Psychology and Music. Moriyah enjoys studying music and its relation to mental health. After college, she plans on attending grad school to become a child/adolescent psychologist. In her free time, Moriyah is part of UO’s running club and enjoys reading, making music, and spending time outdoors.
